Girlie Weekend

Last weekend some of my girlfriends came up for a visit to SF and we spent a day in Napa. It was a long-anticipated and relaxing weekend, exactly what each of us needed!

The girls did wine tasting at a few wineries as I drove them from cellar to cellar. We even packed a picnic for lunch, and sat on a picnic blanket at V. Sattui, one of our favorite wineries known for their dessert wines. Instead of wine tasting, this is what I did: read through 'Winery Dogs' books. At a local grocery store I even found my oils being sold for big bucks! But then again, everything in that store was expensive.

We camped at Bothe Napa State Park that evening, and enjoyed a pleasant-weather night of telephone pictionary, eating canned soup and veggies out of cans, and tasting our s'mores and booties at the campfire. We all fit inside a 4-man tent and snuggled like sardines in our sleeping bags.

Finally, we closed the weekend with a birthday bash for iku, where I hosted a 'Do-It-Yourself' party for Iku at my house. We had DIY shish kebab stations, salad and fruit bar, cupcake making station and even a building (a bridge out of popcicle sticks) challenge. It was no surprise that our Architect Iku's team won the challenge!
