Sighted: Bird and Caterpillar Walking together!

This Halloween I took on Mommy DIY duties because I caught the craft-bug. I wanted to make Kirra's costume this year because she's finally old enough to understand about dressing up, and also about Trick-or-Treating. Plus, her preschool was doing Halloween dress-up and planned a daytime trick-or-treat around their neighborhood.
I saw this DIY Bird Wings on a blogpost and was determined to make them for Kirra. I bought fabric and was super excited to discover fabric glue to adhere everything together. With the help of my friend with a sewing machine to bind the bias and attach the wings to each other, we made some nice, colorful heirloom wings that Kirra and all her cousins can enjoy over the years! I even made a bird mask out of a foam visor.

I made the mistake of waiting until the day before Halloween to try on Liam's HandMeDown Caterpillar costume. Although the size reads 'XL' perhaps that was in baby size. This costume was not meant for toddlers, which is why Liam sort of looks like a sausage instead of a caterpillar. He made it work though, by adding a jack-o-lantern bucket on his head.

Kirra had been practicing saying 'Trick Or Treat!" and while she did recite this at each house, she was so quiet. Liam followed us up each set of outer Sunset house stairs, and did a great job of not falling. He quickly learned to chant his own version, saying 'Teetateet!" and holding out his bucket to collect candy.

At home Kirra got to eat 3 pieces of candy, but Liam had no clue was was dressed inside of the plastic wrappers. He was busy watching videos with Cintya and Ava on the tablet, singing to Sesame Street songs.
