We have decided to stay home this Christmas, so that we can celebrate the miracle of Christmas as a family in our own home. We want Kirra and Liam to begin cherishing the traditions of Christmas with our family at home in SF but also continue to build on other extended family traditions as well.
We got a tree from the local tree merchant, supporting the SPCA with the proceeds. Liam and kirra helped decorate and it makes me so proud that they are both at the age where they can be careful and trusted to handle objects like ornaments, glass, cords, etc. The things that parents having babies still are super cautious about.
I also started back om my crochet needle. With left over yarn from my Anna (Disney's Frozen character)/ hair wig, I am. Crocheting Liam's Christmas stocking. Better late than never! I mean him to have his own stocking that he can grow up with and keep as a teenager and eventually adult. It's no fancy thing, I already feel like I messed up because I switched yarn types and the transition is wonky and bulky. Oh well. I am not going back in time and re - doing it. Sorry Liam, but you'll just grow to love it.
