Colin's birthday weekend

Tomorrow is Colin's birthday. He will be ripe young age of 28! (above is a photo of Colin at maybe 4 yrs old, with his older sister Erin in the background)

Yesterday we celebrated his birthday with good friends by going to a neighborhood Pizza Place (on Noriega and 46th Ave) and chowing down on chicken wings, pizza and PBR (except for me). We gathered back at the beach afterwards with Gus Man in tow, to relax and soak in a late afternoon rare San Francisco heatwave. It was in the 80s this weekend, a rarity around our neighborhood, especially in the Summer. Actually today was more normal- I woke up to fog, then more fog, and now there is still fog.

I took off work today because I started to catch a cold last night- maybe I had a little too much action and weather changing this weekend. My nose is runny, I am sneezy, and really like just working from Bed. (WFB). I talked to the nurse and asked about which medicines I can take for a cold. Benadryl and Robitussin is ok she said, but she also said that the runny nose is very common with early pregnancy because of pregnancy rhinitis.

Pregnancy rhinitis occurs when your nasal passageways become irritated and inflamed during pregnancy. As a result, you experience nasal congestion, sneezing, and a runny nose. It is very similar to allergic rhinitis, except that it does not appear to be caused by any environmental allergens or toxins. Like morning sickness and backaches, thousands of pregnant women experience pregnancy rhinitis every year. In fact, it is believed that between 20% and 30% of all pregnant women will suffer from pregnancy rhinitis to some degree. (Pregnancy-info.net)

I think I will try to go without it for now. Just get some rest, drink herbal tea, and snuggle with Gus.

This gives me time to work on Colin's birthday gift! I'll write again tomorrow after I have given it to him. I dont want to ruin the surprise in the event that he reads this today!

Cintya is coming over tomorrow to help cook us a Polish Feast for Colin's Birthday. Were thinking of some Perogis, Kielbasas, some salad, beer, and some angel food cake a la bundt cake pan.

Colin is my #1 Blog reader, and frequently reminds me to post here or else I will lose my readers. I dont really care if i have an audience or not; my journal is mostly meant for me to write about my changes and to fill my baby on what happened in the 10 months prior to his or her birth. Colin, if you are reading this, your comments count as entries too, you know!

Here are photos from Colin's REAL bday dinner:

Polish feast: kielbasas, pierogis, mustard, sauerkraut, pickles!

Book 'Hello Baby!' that I personalized and gave to Colin. addint my own words and drawings to this children's book about what the baby will be like (and all the babies are animals)
