For one: I cant button my pants.
I need to wear low-rise pants and I don't own many that are work-appropriate (ie, without holes or paint spills or jagged leg bottoms) so I have been wearing leggings. But Even my leggings are getting too tight around the waist and I have to wear them really high (like upper abdomen) or really low. I need to pay a visit to Target and buy some bigger clothes that are cheap and i can outgrow in about 2-3 months.
Secondly I need new tops.
This goes for anything I wear on the top- bras, button-up tops, dresses that zip etc. I went to a wedding last weekend and could not button up the front without gaps between the buttons showing! I have taken pride in having a wardrobe that isn't much different from my 12th grade one, where I can wear t-shirts and pants that you can buy at the juniors sections at apparel places. Lately I have found babydoll like tops and dresses quite comfy and appropriate for work. Maybe I will invest in more of those tops. Well, I think this month marks the month I am in the market for MOMMY CLOTHES... OH NO!
I'm talking loose blouses, anything loose really. Pants with wider legs, longer shirts, sweaters, you know what I am talking about. Luckily I find the Hoodie to be a universal article of comfort and fashion- for beach walks, moms, students, etc. Also lucky for me is I can easily start wearing Colin's hoodies without him noticing because they will very soon fit me! Honey if you are reading this, the next hoodie I am going to swipe from you is the gray one from H&M.
I started measuring my belly since week 6 with a ribbon. I mark a new line each week to see how much I have grown from week to week. It's starting to really sink in that my belly is NOT going to shrink at all- contrary to what happens to me after I go to the bathroom (sorry for the TMI!). My belly is growing and growing and it's the biggest I have ever had my belly this big! I am starting to look like one of those children in Somalia who are malnourished with huge balloon bellies.
Sally Struthers, please send me new pants, please!
Baby:
The embryo measures about 0.9 inches (2.3cm) to 1.2 inches (3cm) from crown to rump, or the size of a strawberry. The arms and legs are longer, and the fingers might be a little swollen where the touch pads are forming. The head is more erect and neck is more developed. Your baby now moves its body and limbs, and this movement can be visible during an ultrasound, but you won't be able to feel it yet.
Mom-to-be:
Your uterus is continuing to grow, and you may begin to see your waistline thickening. But unless you tell people the good news, your pregnancy still won't be noticeable to others. Weight gain is still small, if at all, since you could be experiencing food aversions, cravings, heartburn, indigestion, nausea and bloating. Mood swings and weepiness similar to PMS symptoms are common, too.
