I am now entering the third trimester of pregnancy. We've come a long way, and we have almost 3 more months left to go!
I'm back at home now, after much traveling for pleasure and for work. In fact, I am relieved to be back home because earlier in the week I experienced some side effects of too much travel by way of Swollen Ankles. I had taken 2 5 hour flights back to back (Maui to SFO, then SFO to Boston) and when I arrived in HOT Boston my ankles were stiff, swollen, full of liquid. I could see indentations on my inner ankles when I pressed my fingers there. It was bizarre to see, especially since it made me feel like I had fat lady ankles. I rested and put my feet up (and drank a lot of water), and that has helped some.
I also had my 7 month Dr's Appointment this week. My Glucose test (3 hour) came out fine, so as of right now I'm in the clear for gestational diabetes. My Doctor said that Asian women may sometimes still get gestational diabetes even if they fall below the threshold in their glucose test, but this doesn't show up again until later in pregnancy.
Additional sensations I have been feeling, which all come with the fact that I am later in pregnancy are:
numbness in my limbs (like my arms) when I sleep on one side; difficulty sleeping or falling asleep (i find myself thinking too much when it's time to sleep, not to mention I am probably jet lagged from all this travel); my boobies are itching a lot, and are super sensitive to the cold weather; being hungry more often.
Yesterday Colin and I took a short stroll/hike at Windy Hill (open space preserve) in Woodside. We left the house at 5:40am so that we could catch the fog nestled in the basin before the sun was rising. We're working on the mural more this long Labor Day weekend. Colin and I are doing some studies of sea creatures we like and adding more sea animals into the water of the mural. Other plans this weekend: work on our Birth Plan and soak in some sun!
