Today Kirra is 40 days old. We started out the Indonesian lunch by doing an Indonesian tradition of snipping a short lock of hair from Kirra to symbolize cutting away has luck and bringing her good luck.
Today is also the first day if 2011. What a beautiful future kirra has in store for her. 2010 was full of blessings for us as we were lucky enough to have Kirra through a healthy pregnancy and birth. I'm also lucky to have the family around to help me and to accompany me during these last 6 weeks of having a newborn. I have looked forward to being a parent and mommy since my early 20's but I'm really grateful that I have my parents sisters aunts and cousins to support me and Colin and share their love and.time with us and kirra. Because its through their positive presence, help with cooking and baby caring, that allows me to bond with kirra and Colin more. It also reminds me of how much I love family and how id like for Kirra to have siblings of her own to be loving to her. Just as mine have always been to me.
