First Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year Colin greeted me with breakfast in bed :)

He made me Banana Pancakes with Swanton Berry Farm jam and coffee. It was lovely to snuggle with Gus and Kirra as well.

Cintya and Brian prepared a wonderful BBQ meal for the Moms. Brian's family (Glo, Larisa, Elaine & their kids etc) came over to their place in Oakland for a cozy and complete meal of Chilli, Chicken, Ribs, Salad, Fruit and yummy cream puffs, brownies and cake. I'm hungry just thinking of it again!

Here is a picture of Kirra with Xian, Brian's niece. (Darryl's daughter). She is 10 years old- which is the same age difference between Cintya/Mira and me. Can you believe that when Cintya and Mira were Xian's age they used to change my diapers and carry me?

On a related note, just this week Google debuted their first Television commercial for Google Chrome. In this 1 minute 30 second video the actors playing the father and daughter ("Daniel and Sophie Lee") are actually Darryl and Xian! How cool is that? It is a very sentimental short video that really connects to us parents. It especially is meaningful to us because we do really know Darryl and Xian, and the footage in the commercial are from the real events as they took place in Xian's life. I am so proud of them for making the commercial.

In a similar way, I too am documenting and recording a video for Kirra, and for future children to enjoy when she (they) are bigger. I can't wait to share this blog, my story, with them when they are older.
