Kirra is 6 Months Old Now!

Sometime in the last week Kirra learned how to crawl. Previously she was inching her way around the bed, crib, play pen by rolling around and reaching with her arms out while on her tummy. Well, now she knows how to support herself on all 4's and writhe her way to her desired destination: my phone, my watch, my water bottle. And occasionally a leisurely roll-over maneuver to her friend the turtle, the musical panda or some other toy she hadn't played with in over a few hours. She is seriously developing these crawling, gripping, grasping, pulling, pushing, pinching, kicking moves so quickly- it seems like with each day these motor skills are 40% better than the day before. no joke!

In fact, we had our 6 month check-up with the Pediatrician today. She weighs 17 pounds 3 oz (brings her in at 75th Percentile in weight), and she's in the 90th Percentile in head size/ height. Whoa! The Dr. witnessed Kirra crawling right there on the table- and she was in awe. Most other babies don't get the crawling moves down until 9 months old. I was hoping I could have 3 more months to baby-proof the house! Now it seems we're gonna have to do it sooner. Like this weekend :P

I always am told by other parents, 'they grow so fast!' or 'before you know it they're in 1st grade... then high school..then college!'. I know the feeling now. Now that Kirra has teeth she is my little infant baby itty bitty newborn no more. With teeth comes eating more solids, and teething more, and talking, and talking back more, and not stopping talking, hahaa.
