what an unexpected guest we had this weekend, this sunny California visitor. Last weekend we went to ocean beach by our house to work at a beach cleanup (for the Surfrider Foundation) and it was hottt! I felt real bad that we did not supply water or know that i had hand sanitation pumps to share. With the whole 'Rise Against Plastics' campaign, it really wasn't in line with what Surfrider would want if we were handing out water bottles. The Beach Chalet across the street has a perfectly working fountain, thank you very much.
We went back to OB a couple hours later, with sammies, fruit, pickles, chips, cookies, water, juice, ice, and our happy selves and empty tummies. it was a very nice time and we stayed long enough to see Colin off for an afternoon surf. the beach was mobbed, as was The Great Highway. Gus was well-behaved, never left our area, even with so many other dogs on the beach. Lady was queen of the blankets, all 4 or 5 of them. Iku and Cory each enjoyed special toast from Trouble Coffee by our house (mmm!) and Cintya and Brian rallied a bunch with the racket ball. I think we all left a bit sun tanned or sun burnt, like Ryan's legs, which he forgot to put Sunscreen on earlier. I know this weather won't last long. Summer? nah.. Summer around here is characterized by Fog and mist, coupled with 60 degree gloom. The 75 degree lasted until today (Wednesday 4.22.09) but the wind and fog has returned...come back, sun!
