I just learned that my hCG did double over the past two days (again) so I'm still on track. it increased from 5,800 to 11,200 in 48 hours. I go in for my first ultrasound today. the first time you do anything is always exciting, and sometimes you have enough preparation and planning time to anticipate doing something new for the first time. like ultrasounds.
Colin found some iGoogle gadgets and we uploaded to our iGoogle homepage, gadgets where we can track the baby's size and facts about what is changing and growing where I am in the pregnancy. It's pretty cool that every day it says something new. Based on the projected gestational age of 8 weeks, today it says that the embryo is the size of a grape. Eyelid folds and ears are forming and even the tip of the nose is visible. The arms have grown longer and bend at the elbows. Places where fingers and toes eventually will grow are becoming notched. More really cool illustrations of embryo each week are found on BabyCenter.com.
I'm excited and nervous. I'm not sure if the nervousness is related to excitement or nausea- maybe both. Yesterday I had some nausea that was triggered by car-sickness on the MUNI bus. I went through the actions of vomiting when I got home but nothing came out. Just a few large burps, which i usually do when I am car sick, but I was still nauseous. Today I felt nauseous again so I brought juice on the MUNI to work. I hope the vomiting doesn't ruin my day!

It seems odd, but sour contradicts the nausea. Are they asking you to drink loads of water before the ultrasound? That's the worst. Good luck!
yep i had a full bladder and it was a pain keeping it held in! thanks for the preggi pop tip! I do like sour apple :)
ReplyDeleteI have another tip for you - at my first appointment, they were running late and my bladder had no tolerance for it. I let it go (I mean, I went to the ladies room) and guess what - no one was the wiser. The ultrasound tech didn't notice the difference.
